From April 24th to 27th, the Overseas Business Department of UMETASS set off on an unforgettable journey to the coastal gem of Xiamen, embracing the city’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and culinary delights. The trip provided a perfect opportunity for the team to unwind, connect, and recharge amidst stunning surroundings.
Discovering Xiamen’s Treasures
The adventure kicked off with a day on Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO-listed haven of colonial-era architecture and serene coastal paths. The team explored its cobblestone streets, snapped photos of vibrant bougainvillea-draped buildings, and enjoyed sweeping views of the Taiwan Strait.
Next, the group wandered through the lush Xiamen Botanical Garden, marveling at towering cacti, serene lotus ponds, and misty rainforest gardens. A visit to the picturesque Xiamen University followed, where the team admired the campus’s blend of traditional Chinese architecture and tropical greenery.
No trip to Xiamen would be complete without indulging in its famed cuisine! The team dove into local flavors at Zhongshan Road Pedestria
n Street, sampling oyster omelets, taro peanut soup, and other Minnan specialties.
Sunset Strolls and Seaside Serenity
At Music Square Beach, the team soaked up the laid-back coastal vibe—strolling barefoot in the sand, collecting seashells, and laughing together as waves lapped at the shore. As dusk settled, everyone gathered at a charming beachside bistro, clinking glasses under string lights while sharing stories and savoring fresh seafood.
A Journey of Joy and Connection
The four-day getaway was a celebration of camaraderie and discovery. “Xiamen’s charm and warmth brought us closer,” shared one team member. “From sunrise hikes to midnight snacks, every moment felt like a shared adventure.”
UMETASS believes that fostering joy and connection outside the workplace enriches both personal and professional lives. This trip reflects our commitment to creating memorable experiences that inspire creativity and strengthen bonds among colleagues.
